Leiden Uni spinout RougeTx launches with USD 58m Series A for HHT program

RougeTx, based in the Netherlands, has launched with a USD 58 million Series A to advance RTX-001, its lead programme for hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), towards clinical development.

BioGeneration Ventures, Angelini Ventures and Kurma Partners co-led the round. Other investors included the European Investment Bank’s Aurea co-investment facility, Epidarex Capital, Vesalius Biocapital Partners, ROM Utrecht Region, p53 Invest and Kerna Ventures.

RTX-001 is designed to stabilise fragile blood vessels by restoring the attachment of pericytes, cells that support vessel walls. HHT is an inherited vascular disorder that can cause recurrent bleeding, chronic anaemia and serious organ complications. RougeTx says there are no approved therapies for the disease.
