Undecimal Bio raises USD 18m seed round to extend siRNA delivery beyond the liver

Undecimal Bio, a platform biotechnology company with laboratories at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute in Cambridge, England, raised USD 18 million in an oversubscribed seed financing to advance its DELiveri platform for siRNA delivery to cell types beyond the liver and to progress its renovascular disease programs.

The round was co-led by 4BIO Capital and IQ Capital, with participation from Verve Ventures, Harel Tech, Entree Capital, Kerna Ventures, and Saras Capital. The company said it has entered several research collaborations with large pharmaceutical companies, the identities of which have not yet been disclosed.

Undecimal is a spinout from Eleven Therapeutics and is applying DELiveri initially to renovascular diseases, which the company describes as conditions where existing treatments address symptoms rather than underlying disease-driving pathways. DELiveri screens large combinatorial libraries of candidate ligands, using cells as molecular readouts to detect productive delivery at single-molecule resolution. Agentic AI then analyzes the resulting structure–activity data to identify conjugates capable of directing siRNA into target cells.

The DELiveri platform was previously developed by Eleven Therapeutics, which partnered with Novo Nordisk in July 2023 to identify cell-specific carriers for nucleic acid therapeutics targeting cardiometabolic diseases. The agreement granted Novo Nordisk exclusive rights to specified cell types and applications, marking an earlier pharmaceutical research partnership for the technology now being advanced by Undecimal.
