H. Lundbeck A/S will relocate its US headquarters from Deerfield, Illinois, to Greater Boston, Massachusetts, where the Danish drugmaker plans to establish a broader global innovation hub focused on neuroscience, external collaboration, and digital and AI capabilities.
Lundbeck said the move forms part of its Focused Innovator strategy and builds on an existing presence in Cambridge. The company cited Greater Boston’s concentration of academic medical centers, biotechnology companies, scientific talent, and technology infrastructure as key reasons for the relocation, which is expected to take place over the next year.
The new hub is intended to bring US commercial, R&D, and innovation capabilities closer together while increasing Lundbeck’s access to external science and potential partners. The company said it plans to retain its US team and maintain business continuity during the transition.
