Curium commits EUR 32m strategic investment to Saclay radiopharmaceuticals facility

Curium, the Paris-headquartered radiopharmaceutical company, has announced a strategic capital investment exceeding EUR 32 million at its Saclay, France manufacturing site, directed at establishing a new European production line for ¹⁷⁷Lu-PSMA-I&T, a targeted radioligand therapy for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

The Curium investment in France is self-funded and carries no external investors. Proceeds will finance construction of the new production line and support the creation of 20 skilled positions at the Saclay facility. The company said the site was selected for its proximity to France's broader scientific and industrial ecosystem, including ties to the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), which has historically anchored the region's nuclear medicine capabilities.

The announcement was made at the Choose France summit in Versailles. The EUR 32 million commitment forms part of a wider industrial program in which Curium has invested more than EUR 50 million across its French operations over the past five years.

The Saclay investment reflects a deliberate strategic pivot. Curium has historically built its reputation in nuclear medicine diagnostics, operating across more than 70 countries with a portfolio exceeding 45 products. The move into radioligand therapy production — and specifically the manufacturing of ¹⁷⁷Lu-PSMA-I&T for prostate cancer — signals the company's intent to establish itself as a theranostics player, combining diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities under one platform.

Curium's investment comes amid growing industry competition in PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy, a field largely validated by the commercial success of Novartis' blockbuster therapy Pluvicto. Curium's investment underscores its push into therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals through the development of its investigational ^177Lu-PSMA-I&T program for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The company has been advancing the candidate through its Phase III ECLIPSE trial while expanding manufacturing capacity to support future commercial demand.
