California-based Rapalogix Health, a biotechnology company developing TORC1-targeting therapeutics and professional skincare products for skin longevity, has closed a USD 20 million Series A financing round to fund commercial expansion of its Re-Q Health skincare line and advance its prescription therapeutics pipeline toward an IND filing.
The round was co-led by GordonMD Global Investments LP, a Beverly Hills-based physician-led investment firm founded by Craig Gordon, MD, and Woodline Partners, which manages approximately USD 22 billion in assets across four global offices. No additional participating investors were disclosed. Proceeds will support the national commercial rollout of Re-Q Health and IND-enabling studies for RLX-202, the company's lead prescription therapeutic candidate for aesthetic dermatology. No prior funding rounds were disclosed by the company.
In connection with the financing, Neetu Dhaliwal and Craig Gordon were appointed to Rapalogix's board of directors. Gordon, whose firm pursues a strategy combining medical expertise with fundamental analysis, cited the company's TORC1-targeting mechanism as the basis for GordonMD's investment conviction. Woodline Partners, which implements a fundamental equity strategy anchored by corporate partnerships, participated without disclosing a named representative for the board.
Rapalogix was founded by Rahul Mehta, PhD, who serves as CEO, alongside renowned dermatologist Doris Day, MD, and healthcare executive Brent Saunders. The company was spun out to apply Cambrian Bio's TORnado platform — which the company describes as having solved a longstanding challenge in achieving selective TORC1 modulation — to skin health applications. Cambrian Bio (Cambrian BioPharma Inc.) is a clinical-stage drug development company focused on therapeutics targeting metabolic sensing functions that decline with age, including AMPK and mTOR.
