Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Mirai Bio and Singapore's A*STAR Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (A*STAR IMCB) announced a research collaboration focused on advancing nucleic acid delivery to lung epithelial and endothelial cells. The partnership pairs Mirai's machine learning-guided lipid nanoparticle (LNP) optimization platform with A*STAR IMCB's expertise in ligand discovery and endothelial biology. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The collaboration is being conducted under the broader Flagship Pioneering–A*STAR institutional partnership, a five-year framework announced in October 2024 under which the organizations committed up to SGD 100 million (USD 78 million) to support research collaboration, venture creation, and talent development. Mirai Bio, founded by Flagship Pioneering in 2021 and publicly unveiled in 2024, has also partnered with Thermo Fisher Scientific to integrate its nucleic acid delivery platform with development and commercial manufacturing capabilities.
