China-based Sanyou Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Sanyou Bio) and Guangzhou Baiyunshan Xihe Health Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Baiyunshan Xihe) announced a strategic collaboration covering the co-development of novel radiopharmaceuticals and radiodiagnostic products, a radiopharmaceutical partnership that connects Sanyou Bio’s AI-driven molecular discovery infrastructure with Baiyunshan Xihe’s end-to-end nuclear medicine manufacturing capabilities. The agreement covers precision oncology applications and is focused on building an integrated pipeline from target identification through clinical translation. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Sanyou Bio will contribute its AI-Super Trillion Antibody/Molecule Libraries (AI-STAL) and its Sanyou AI-Drug Accelerator (SAI-DA) platform to identify and optimize high-performance antibodies and targeting molecules against specific radiopharmaceutical targets. Baiyunshan Xihe, which operates under the Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings umbrella, will apply its GMP manufacturing infrastructure, radiolabeling expertise, and production capabilities for medical radionuclides including Gallium-68, Zirconium-89, Copper-64, and Rhenium-186. The division of responsibilities follows an upstream-downstream model: Sanyou Bio generates and optimizes candidate molecules, while Baiyunshan Xihe advances them through radiolabeling, in vitro and in vivo evaluation, and preclinical studies. No specific programs, targets, or clinical timelines were disclosed in the announcement.
The collaboration is structured as a platform-level alliance rather than a single-asset deal. The parties indicated they intend to develop a portfolio spanning both theranostic radiopharmaceuticals — agents that combine diagnostic and therapeutic functions using paired radionuclides — and standalone radiodiagnostic products. The stated objective is to compress development timelines from target concept to radiopharmaceutical candidate, though no quantitative targets were provided.
