Israel-based Orvida Pharma Ltd, formerly Kamari Pharma, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing treatments for rare and severe genetic skin diseases, has completed an interim financing led by Recordati to fund continued development of ontivatrep, its lead investigational therapy, and advance additional rare genetic skin-disease programs. The financing is earmarked to support ontivatrep (KM-023), an oral TRPV3 inhibitor being developed for Olmsted syndrome, severe keratodermas and ichthyosis,witha Phase Ib trial for Olmsted syndrome currently under way in Europe and the US. Topline data are expected in Q4 2026 Financing specifics were not disclosed.
Orvida’s existing shareholders participated in the round alongside Recordati, with financing earmarked to support ontivatrep (KM-023), an oral TRPV3 inhibitor being developed for Olmsted syndrome, severe keratodermas and ichthyosis. A Phase Ib trial for Olmsted syndrome is currently under way in Europe and the US.
Olmsted syndrome is a rare, severe genetic skin disorder that can cause painful thickened skin, particularly on the palms and soles, and available sources state that it has no approved therapies. Orvida reported favorable safety data for ontivatrep from a Phase Ia study in 40 healthy volunteers in April.
Orvida is also developing topical TRPV3 inhibitors, including KM-001 for palmoplantar keratodermas.
