Palo Alto-based Network Bio has launched with USD 50 million in financing to build disease-specific AI models trained on multimodal patient tissue, blood, and longitudinal clinical data — a platform the company said is already generating transferable disease signals across conditions it was not originally trained on.
Section 32, whose Managing Partner Mike Pellini will serve as Chairman of Network Bio's board, led the round alongside Thiel Bio, Founders Fund, Breyer Capital, Blue Venture Fund, and JSL Health Capital, with additional undisclosed life science and AI funds participating. The financing follows a USD 17 million seed round closed in February 2025, bringing total disclosed funding to approximately USD 67 million. Network Bio said proceeds will support expansion of its life science platform and its growing network of academic biobank partnerships.
The platform rests on two components: a curated research network drawing on biobanks at Mass General Brigham, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Colorado Anschutz, and a bio-native AI architecture purpose-built to integrate tissue, blood, and molecular data with longitudinal clinical outcomes. The company said its architecture is designed to generate interpretable disease representations that generalize across diseases and tissue types. Network Bio points to peer-reviewed research, including work in respiratory disease, ovarian cancer, and bone disease, as supporting the scientific approach underlying its platform.
Network Bio has secured early commercial validation through a co-development and licensing agreement valued at more than USD 30 million with an unnamed Fortune 100, top-10 healthcare company, structured around identifying and interpreting novel disease signatures using the company's AI architecture. The deal represents the platform's most advanced translation into applied clinical use to date.
