Alvotech (Nasdaq: ALVO) has licensed commercialization rights for two biosimilar candidates — AVT34, a proposed biosimilar to AstraZeneca's durvalumab (Imfinzi), and AVT87, a proposed biosimilar to Roche's emicizumab (Hemlibra) — to Lotus Pharmaceutical (TWSE: 1795) in a deal worth up to USD 150 million in upfront and milestone payments.
Lotus will receive semi-exclusive rights in the US, where it will commercialize the products through wholly owned subsidiary Alvogen, while Alvotech retains the right to commercialize both candidates independently. Lotus also receives exclusive rights in South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Alvotech retains development responsibility and will supply the products.
The reference products generated combined global sales of approximately USD 11.9 billion in 2025, including around USD 6.1 billion for Imfinzi and CHF 4.8 billion (approximately USD 5.8 billion) for Hemlibra.
