Novo Nordisk (Copenhagen: NOVO B) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a strategic partnership that establishes AWS as Novo Nordisk's preferred cloud provider and names the two companies as co-founders of a joint AI innovation hub in London, where engineers and scientists from both organizations will work to compress the timeline from drug target identification to first human dose.
The partnership deploys AWS cloud and agentic AI services — including Amazon Bio Discovery and Amazon Bedrock — across Novo Nordisk's drug discovery workflows, enabling integration of genomic, imaging, and clinical datasets to accelerate target identification and therapy design. Novo Nordisk said it will also use Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to drive operational efficiencies across its broader business. The company reported that the collaboration has already produced measurable results, including reduced clinical documentation time and productivity gains for more than 25,000 employees, the company said.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The agreement covers Novo Nordisk's operations globally, with the London co-innovation hub serving as the physical anchor for joint research and development activities.
